The Executive Committee is responsible for strategic planning and oversight of the organization’s work.
Education

The Education Committee makes recommendations regarding the alignment of education and employment. The Committee engages the business community, educators, various professional and civic organizations and governmental agencies to advise on regional talent needs, appropriate curriculum, and emerging economic trends and to adopt and implement common workforce and education goals. The Committee further advises all stakeholders on how to 1) grow and improve the talent supply, 2) prepare the talent supply to meet the future needs of business, 3) contribute to the growth and prosperity of the state's businesses; and 4) positively impact and improve the quality of life for all Texans.
Finance
David Setzer, Chairperson
The Finance Committee oversees the organization’s income and expenditures and presents the annual operating budget for approval. The Committee reports to the Board of Directors at each meeting and brings forth other financial matters, recommendations and revisions for approval as necessary.
Legislative
Frank Thompson, Chairperson
The Legislative Committee monitors actions taken by the U.S. Congress and the Texas Legislature that affect workforce development and education. The Committee works to educate legislators on workforce issues, inform them of how their actions may impact workforce delivery services, and serves as a resource for guidance and testimony.
Marketing

The Marketing Committee identifies ways to communicate the message of TAWB and educate and inform the public and others on workforce and education issues.
Policy
Mark Guthrie, Chairperson
The Policy Committee considers and makes recommendations on issues of workforce policy arising from rules, proposed rules and other actions of the Texas Legislature and the Texas Workforce Commission, and from the operation of the workforce system.

The council is comprised of Executive Directors of 27 workforce boards. The council meets on a quarterly basis to discuss Texas, U.S. and international employment and training trends and standards. Other areas of discussion include workforce development policies, operational procedures, cost allocations and best practices. The committee works hand-in-hand with the Texas Workforce Commission to develop strategies to streamline operations and enhance service provisions within each of the twenty-eight the local workforce board areas.
